# Buenos Aires: map, what to do and when to go

Buenos Aires is the city of tango, parrilla and bookstores, a flat grid you can walk from San Telmo to Palermo. Argentina's capital, home to about 3.1 million people on the Río de la Plata, was rebuilt between 1880 and 1930 with pampas money and European immigrants.

## Direct answer

- **Buenos Aires: How do you get from Ezeiza to downtown?** A fixed-fare taxi or remis costs about US$35 to 45 and takes 45 to 70 min depending on traffic, and the Tienda León bus runs to Retiro and Puerto Madero about every 30 min, for about US$12 to 15.
- **Buenos Aires: How do you get to Tigre and the Paraná Delta?** Tigre is 28 km north, about 1 hour by train on the Mitre line from Retiro; another option is the Tren de la Costa from Olivos.
