# Lisbon: map, what to do and when to go

Lisbon is a city of slopes between hills and the Tagus, where 1.5 km on the map can take 30 minutes on foot and the reward is the viewpoints. Capital of Portugal, with about 546,000 residents, it had its center rebuilt on a grid after the 1755 earthquake.
