# Seattle: map, what to do and when to go

Seattle is a city of hills and drizzle between the sea and a lake, and on clear-sky days Mount Rainier appears to the south, a 4,392 m volcano. The largest city in the northwestern United States and home to Amazon, it has about 817,000 people and began in 1851 as a logging camp.
