# Seville: map, what to do and when to go

Seville is visited on foot through narrow streets covered with awnings in summer, between the Alcázar, the Cathedral, and the river. Capital of Andalusia, it sits on the Guadalquivir, 80 km from the sea, and from 1503 to 1717 was the only legal port for trade with the Americas.
