# Warsaw: map, what to do and when to go

Warsaw is the capital of Poland, visited for its rebuilt Old Town and the museums that tell the story of the ghetto and the 1944 Uprising. In January 1945, about 85% of the left bank lay in ruins, and the houses on the main square weren't finished again until 1953.
