Who it is for

For anyone who wants England, Scotland and Ireland in one trip, with a pub, a museum and history at every stop.

Not for anyone who depends on sunshine, since it rains in every season.

The strategy

London comes first, with its free museums, and the train goes up to Edinburgh. Dublin closes the trip, a short flight from Scotland.

What you will see

  • British Museum, London. Founded in 1753, it is the world’s oldest public museum and is still free.
  • Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh. Fortress atop the volcanic plug, occupied since the Iron Age.
  • Trinity College, Dublin. A college founded in 1592 in the heart of downtown, with stone quads and the Old Library (1712–1732), whose Long Room runs 65 m long.
