Who it is for
For a week that pairs one day of wildlife with days on Indian Ocean beaches.
Not for anyone who wants a long safari, since here the savanna is Nairobi's, seen in a single day.
The strategy
Nairobi comes first, with the National Park planned around admission, vehicle and departure time. Check the flight to Zanzibar, including airport time, luggage and the transfer to accommodation; a short flight does not leave the whole day free. Stone Town and beaches come at the end, with breaks on the Nairobi days too.
What you will see
- Nairobi National Park, Nairobi. Nairobi National Park’s savanna begins at the capital’s southern edge: 117 km² protected since 1946, with rhinos, lions, giraffes and other species.
- Christ Church Anglican Cathedral, Zanzibar. Built from 1873 on the site of the slave market closed that same year, in the Mkunazini neighborhood.
